Lubeck
This is our final day in Lubeck. We had a leisurely morning wandering about and revisiting a couple of places from the last few days. We feel we have got to know it a little now and enjoyed strolling confidently about the place.
Clive and Ruth joined us just after lunch and we went for a cruise around the waterway that circles the old town of Lubeck.
It was cool seeing the town from a different perspective and also seeing some of parks and cycleways that Clive has frequented during his time here.
I got be captain of the boat and thought I did a brilliant job until it was time to berth it after our 1 hour journey. I completely cocked it up and was lucky to even get it into the adjacent berth from where the attendant had indicated. Fail.
Anyway no damage done we then headed to a cake shop for afternoon tea. They have these amazing cake shops where you can select a slice of any cake on display and they look look delicious and inviting. Just yum.
We then headed back to our apartment as Reijo and Barbra had arrived from Copenhagen.
It was great to see them again, the last time we were with them was in Bali at the end of our 2019 trip.
We headed out for a quick tour of the old city and then found a pub for a drink and an early dinner.
Clive and Ruth then headed for home. Sad to say goodbye, they have been such tremendous hosts but we know we will see them soon in NZ. They made our stay here very special.
We then found a little bar and had a couple more drinks before calling it a night.
