Hamburg to Lubeck
Our view from the 6 th floor. Goodbye Hamburg.
We are in Lubeck for 4 nights, almost feel like a local. A very easy ride today, by the time we cleared the Hamburg suburbs and passed through a few small villages we were here. I think we only had 100km/hr roads a couple of times and even then only for a short time. We have an apartment which is very tightly controlled by a series of electronic locks and timers to get in. We were unable to check in until 3pm but with a special code we could drop our gear in a secure room in the basement.
We needed to drop our gear off because the bike was booked in for new tyres on Monday but we were able to drop it off today. That way it would save us paying for bike parking.
So we went to be bike shop which was only 3km away and the guy said we will do it now for you. So we waited in the Ducati/ Kawasaki showroom for an hour which was no hardship for me as there was plenty of eye candy to drool over. We then paid the not inconsiderable bill and headed back. As luck would have it one of the 3 carparks outside our hotel was free so big result there. I’m sure we won’t win any popularity awards for parking our bike in a carpark but too bad.
We were in contact with Ruth who came to see us and we adjourned to a cafe for a pastry and a drink. Ruth has set out our agenda for the next three days and we are looking forward to it already.
We then checked in properly and said goodbye to Ruth. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and taking advantage of the free washing machine and dryer to do some washing.
There is a nearby sports bar where we had a drink and a pub meal and casually watched a blue team playing a white team in the Bundesliga.(Football if you don’t know or soccer if you really don’t know).

Most envious! Enjoy your time in Lubeck. Sending best wishes to Clive and Ruth.
